However, they might miss the biggest sale this year..... Our farm has spawn fish in February successfully, almost ahead one and half month to stop fish dormancy. Some of our new fish now is reached to 6-7cm and changed colour completely. We can ship to non-stop customers after testing a couple of times for some fancy lines. We invested on the research and facilities, not only to be able to supply all year around to meet customer needs, but also to increase our overall profit. It is getting harder and harder, along with the US dollar to Chinese Yuan's currency dropping, less of land, rising of utility etc. In fact, the only strength every chinese farmers is the cheap labour!

Whatever the suppliers from fresh water, marine or pond, they have their own holding/shipping methods. The suppliers decide about the density of the fish are held prior to shipping, quality of packing water, the volume of water in the bags and the ratio of compressed oxygen, whether or not the fish were treated for disease, whether heat packs or cold packs are applied in the box etc. Generally, this information is a competitive advantage to compete others and is not be shared.. Therefore, a couple of questions you can ask the supplier when you want to import ( for goldfish).

Therefore, I have to remind every importers that you'd better to ask the suppliers about their packing skills usually was ignored. An experienced supplier do a better job than others can save a lot of money and make a good DOA for their customers. Last year, a new customer decided to buy fish from mainland China. He got a bunch of price lists from almost suppliers in China and studied. He pretty like my fish and my quick reponse but was a little hesitate because my FOB price was not the cheapest(1 cent or 2 cents more than the cheapest). Anway, he asked me to provide a proforma for his 30 boxes order. At meanwhile, he asked the cheapest supplier located in Shanghai as well did the same thing. When he compared these two proformas, he figured out our approximately shipping weight was only 330kg, the other was 390kg! So, he asked him if it is possible to make it around 330kg so that he could have the most benifit. "it could be heavier on the shipping date, 13kg per box is normal!" the supplier answered. Finally, I got his order and sent him 30 boxes fish. Although he spent $80 more on the fish cost, but he saved $400 on the shipping cost, and our excellent DOA (lower than 0.1%) let him very happy I wrote this story for you, just hope every impoters, you m | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
